The Sapporo Parallel Museum started in 2021 as an exhibition accessible from anywhere in the world through both the city and the web. For its third rendition, in addition to exhibiting artworks at six venues along Sapporo Ekimae Dori, this year's exhibition will offer opportunities to enjoy the city and art through museum stores, stamp rallies, talk events, and other events. In addition, to expand the concept of "parallel," the museum collaborates with Yurakucho Art Urbanism (YAU) and conducts a cross-area exchange program.
During the exhibition period, after visitors have collected nine stamps by visiting the six venues and nine locations of the Sapporo Parallel Museum, they can exchange them for original goods. Please collect stamps by scanning the 2D code on the caption next to the artwork with your smartphone.

In recent years, more cities have been incorporating art into their urban development. With a focus on "urban development × art," this discussion will explore the meaning of exhibiting artworks and the activities of artists in the city center, the joys and challenges of managing such projects, and the future challenges and prospects. The discussion will feature guest artists and members of Yurakucho Art Urbanism (YAU) and will be divided into "Artist Talk" and "Management Talk."
At the art project "PARC11" held at Chi-Ka-Ho in October of last year, experts introduced activities and organizations considered important for contemporary art in Sapporo from 1990 to 2020. From among them, this time we will focus on the "Creative City" and the "Sapporo International Art Festival" that were particularly mentioned, and together with various speakers, we will examine the unique art scene in Sapporo.
YAU STUDIO, the base of activities for Yurakucho Art Urbanism (YAU), which brings innovation through exchange between artists and the city, will host a residency and exhibition of works by selected artists from the Sapporo Parallel Museum. For details, please visit the YAU website.
